Founded in 1920 in Florence Italy, Gucci is one of the most recognized names in fashion. Like other Italian and French fashion icons: Fendi, Salvatore Ferragamo, Hermès and Louis Vuitton, Gucci started as a leather goods shop in 1920, creating handbags, small luggage and shoes. Guccio Gucci the brand's founder soon expanded operations to other cities in Italy. By 1950, Gucci had a boutique in New York City and soon became an International status symbol for their leather accessories and fashions.
Gucci continued to grow through the 1970s adding both wristwatches and fine fragrances to their assortment. In the 1990's Tom Ford joined Gucci and became the creative director for the fashion house in 1994. Ford's vision and creativity helped turn Gucci into the premier international fashion house it is today. Although Ford left the brand in 2004, Gucci remains a relevant fashion leader and is highly popular today.
Gucci timepieces are among the most-sought after wristwatches in the world. The brand's emblematic style is carried out in many of their wrist fashions…from the signature Gucci G-logo on the bezels to the patterned Gucci crest on the dials and bracelets.
